Where Can Water Mist Systems Be Used?
Water mist performance depends on nozzle characteristics, pressure, enclosure geometry, ventilation and the tested fire scenario.

How Does Water Mist Work?
Water mist applies water as very small droplets, using the increased surface area to promote rapid heat transfer. Depending on the system design and fire scenario, the mechanisms may include cooling, reduction of radiant heat and local oxygen displacement through steam generation.
Typical Applications
- Machinery and engine spaces
- Turbines and energy equipment
- Marine applications
- Selected electrical and technical spaces
- Industrial processes and local equipment protection
Why Is a Tested Configuration Important?
Nozzle characteristics, operating pressure, flow, obstructions, enclosure geometry and the fire scenario determine system performance. There is no single universal water mist design recipe for every hazard; the relevant test or listing scope for the intended application should be used.
