Data Centers & Critical Technical Spaces
Fire detection and suppression for data centers, UPS rooms and critical technical spaces, with attention to early detection, enclosure integrity and system interfaces.

In data centres and server rooms, the fire-protection objective is not simply to extinguish flames. The design should also reduce downtime, protect electronic equipment, provide early detection and manage UPS and battery hazards with an appropriate protection strategy.
Hazard Layers
- Electronic equipment and cable fires
- Raised-floor and suspended-ceiling voids
- UPS and power-distribution equipment
- Lithium-ion battery racks and cabinets
- Effect of HVAC airflow on smoke movement
- Business continuity and critical operations
System Alternatives
- Aspirating smoke detection (ASD)
- Addressable fire detection
- Gaseous / clean-agent suppression
- Room-integrity and hold-time verification
- F-500 EA® Micelle Mist for lithium-ion battery hazards where supported by the selected system/test scope
- Sprinklers or water mist according to project criteria
- Cause-and-effect, HVAC and shutdown integration
Service Area
From Yalova, DEMOFIRE provides fire protection design support, installation, commissioning, maintenance and technical service for data centres and server rooms primarily in Istanbul, Kocaeli and Bursa and, depending on project scope, in Izmir and throughout Türkiye.
Is gaseous suppression alone sufficient in a server room?
Not necessarily. Depending on the building and enclosure conditions, sprinklers, detection, room integrity and battery hazards may also need to be addressed.
Why is a door-fan test performed?
It helps assess whether the extinguishing concentration can be maintained within the enclosure for the required design period.
Does a lithium-ion UPS battery installation require additional protection?
Depending on battery architecture, capacity and available test evidence, additional thermal-runaway protection may be required.
