Fire Detection & Alarm Systems

Addressable and conventional fire detection, alarm, cause-and-effect interfaces, commissioning, testing and service.

Fire Detection & Alarm Systems

A fire detection and alarm system is more than a collection of detectors and a control panel. Selection of detector technology for the actual hazard, space geometry, environmental conditions, alarm organisation, cause-and-effect logic and integration with other fire protection systems determine real system performance.

System Types

  • Addressable fire detection systems
  • Conventional fire detection systems
  • Smoke, heat and multi-criteria detectors
  • Beam smoke detectors
  • Aspirating smoke detection (ASD)
  • Flame and special-process detectors
  • Manual call points
  • Audible and visual alarm devices

Cause & Effect Integration

  • Fire pumps and waterflow switches
  • Gaseous-suppression releasing systems
  • Commercial-kitchen suppression interlocks
  • Smoke-control dampers and fans
  • Door holders and fire doors
  • Lift/elevator sequences
  • Power isolation or safe shutdown of processes

Commissioning

Commissioning should verify more than whether devices produce an alarm. Loop/zone addressing, fault conditions, panel text, audible and visual notification, cause-and-effect sequences and the functional interfaces to other monitored fire protection systems must all be tested.

Standards and Design References

Depending on the project, the EN 54 series, NFPA 72, BYKHY and project or authority criteria may apply.

Service Area

From Yalova, DEMOFIRE provides fire detection and alarm design support, installation, commissioning, testing, maintenance and service primarily across the Marmara Region, including Istanbul, Kocaeli and Bursa, and—depending on project scope—in Izmir and throughout Türkiye.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is an addressable system mandatory in every building?

No. The appropriate system type depends on building size, occupancy, regulations, project criteria and operational requirements.

Is detector quantity determined only by floor area?

No. Ceiling height, geometry, air movement, obstructions and detector technology also have to be considered.

Can the fire alarm panel control other systems?

Yes. Depending on the designed cause-and-effect sequence, the system can interface with smoke control, doors, lifts, suppression systems and other building services.
