Why Is Enclosure Integrity Important?
In total-flooding gaseous suppression systems, the calculated agent concentration must remain within the protected enclosure for a defined period. Doors, cable penetrations, vents and similar openings can increase the effective leakage area.
Room Integrity / Door-Fan Testing
A door-fan test creates a controlled pressure difference to help estimate the equivalent leakage area of the enclosure. The results are used to evaluate whether the design concentration can be maintained for the required hold time.
System Integrity
Agent quantity, enclosure volume, leakage, damper/HVAC interlocks, pressure relief and re-entry procedures should be considered together.
