Manual Release
A manual release station allows the suppression system to be activated independently of the automatic detection sequence. It should be accessible, clearly identified and located so as to reduce the risk of unintended operation.
Abort Function
The behaviour of an abort function depends on the applicable system standard, control panel and cause-and-effect logic. The same abort sequence should therefore not be assumed for every gaseous suppression system.
Functional Testing
During commissioning, the panel, alarms, time delay, manual release, abort function and associated interlocks can be verified using an appropriate test method without discharging the extinguishing agent. Whether a live-agent discharge is required is determined separately by the project acceptance criteria.
