How does an on-board suppression system detect a fire?
Depending on the system, linear heat or detection tubing, electronic sensors or other detection methods may be used.
Can the system automatically stop the engine?
An interlock can be implemented where the system design and vehicle/OEM requirements permit it.
Can the same cylinder and nozzle quantity be used on every vehicle?
No. System sizing depends on compartment volume, hazard and the manufacturer’s application criteria.
