Sprinkler & Water-Based Fire Protection Systems
Design support, installation, commissioning, testing, maintenance and service for sprinkler and water-based fire protection systems in Turkey.

System Approach
Automatic sprinkler systems are among the most fundamental active fire protection systems intended to control a fire at an early stage. However, system reliability is not determined by the sprinkler head or pipe diameter alone. Hazard classification, storage arrangement, ceiling height, sprinkler type, water supply, pump performance, piping network, valve assemblies and field installation must be considered as one complete design.
DEMOFIRE provides sprinkler and water-based system installation for new facilities, capacity and implementation upgrades for existing facilities, field modifications, commissioning, maintenance and testing.
Scope
- Automatic sprinkler systems
- Fire hydrant systems
- Fire hose cabinet / hose systems
- Fire-water storage and distribution infrastructure
- Valve stations, alarm valves and system zoning
- Test-and-drain and monitoring equipment
- Existing-system modification and capacity improvement
- As-built documentation and field coordination
Critical Design Issues
- Correct determination of occupancy and hazard classification
- For storage facilities: commodity, rack arrangement, storage height and ceiling height
- Sprinkler type, K-factor, temperature rating and spacing criteria
- Correct modelling of hydraulic demand and the remote design area
- Verification that the pump and water supply can meet system demand
- Maintaining piping and equipment pressure limits
- Electrical, detection and waterflow-switch integration
Installation and Commissioning
During field installation, piping routes, supports, sprinkler obstructions, ceiling and MEP coordination, valve accessibility and test points are checked. During commissioning, the water supply, fire pump, alarm/monitoring and waterflow functions are tested as an integrated system.
Standards and Design References
Depending on the project, NFPA 13, EN 12845, the Turkish Fire Code (BYKHY) and client or authority requirements may form the design basis. The applicable edition and design basis should be defined at the beginning of the project.
Service Area
From our Yalova base, DEMOFIRE provides sprinkler-system design support, installation, commissioning, testing, maintenance and service primarily across the Marmara Region, including Istanbul, Kocaeli and Bursa, and—depending on project scope—in Izmir and throughout Türkiye.
Frequently Asked Questions
How can the adequacy of an existing sprinkler system be assessed?
The current occupancy, storage arrangement, sprinkler type, piping, fire pump and water supply should be compared with the actual hazard and design basis. Where necessary, the hydraulic calculation should be updated.
If a building has sprinklers, are fire hose cabinets or hydrants unnecessary?
No. Their requirements are determined separately according to occupancy, applicable regulations, site conditions and the fire-response strategy.
Does a change in storage height affect the sprinkler system?
Yes. Commodity, rack configuration and storage height can materially change the sprinkler design criteria.
